Thomas Sharp's Plan, Christchurch Meadows
Sharp, Thomas

One of a set of maps produced by planning consultant Thomas Sharp to illustrate his proposals to change the road layout of Oxford. His intention was to direct traffic around the outside of the city, thus preserving the historic centre. This map shows a proposed new road across Christ Church Meadow to divert traffic away from the High Street; this was never constructed.

[Christ Church Meadow proposals]. Produced to illustrate Oxford re-planned, by Thomas Sharp (1948). (R) C17:70 Oxford (246)
